With so many waterfalls on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge is easy to get lost admiring their mesmerizing beauty. There are so many of them that for me was difficult to leave this magnificent part of the Pacific Northwest. Enjoy!!! Become a ray of hope for someone by helping them in whatever way you can to rebuild their life. Live to be a lighthouse for others and make the journey of your life worthwhile.― Latika Teotia As the day progressed it turned from cloudy to partially sunny. This change allowed the sun rays to sneak in through the dense tree foliage creating this amazing view. Silver Falls State Park in Oregon---such a wonderful and magnificent place to enjoy nature! Rays of HopeLower South Falls is one of the larger waterfalls in Silver Falls State Park and one of four waterfalls that you can walk behind. Lower South Falls features a trail which passes behind the falling water. Unlike the other three, the confines of the overhang behind the falls are quite cramped, and as such the trail has been constructed bordered with a very tasteful stone wall that blends into the landscape quite unobtrusively, which gives the falls a bit of a rustic feel more typically associated with areas like the Columbia River Gorge. Maple trees frame the falls and I'm pretty sure that they provide a great accent of color in late October and early November when the leaves are turning. I'll definitely visit this beautiful location during that time frame. In the meantime, enjoy!!! Lower South Falls - OregonIf only one could let go of the handlebars and release the wings upon the wind. Wandering what life would be like if you were truly free and could let go.--Wallace R. Morris III Sitting on the edge of the Oregon coast, a gaping, seemingly bottomless sinkhole swallows the unbroken stream of seawater around it. But Thor’s Well, as the natural wonder is known, is not bottomless. The well is actually a hole in the rock that appears to drain water from the ocean. Even if the well is not quite as magic as it seems, it still manages to produce amazing sights The site is most spectacular at high tide, or during storms when water washes violently over the rocks and funnels into the hole. During these sudden torrents, unsuspecting visitors to the site run the risk of being swept right into the maelstrom. Regardless of the risks, photographers and nature lovers continue to flock to the stunning fountain to see the aggressive waters that live up to their godly namesake’s stormy personality. Enjoy!!! Thor's WellJoy in looking and comprehending is nature's most beautiful gift.-- Albert Einstein As I descended the path to the base of the waterfall, I realized that nature is just perfect. Latourell Falls, a 249' plunge, is beautiful in all seasons. In the summer, the water flow is very low, creating near misty conditions. The beauty of this jewel just takes your breath away! I just couldn't resist getting close to it and to get wet in the really cold water. Enjoy!!! Admiring Greatness |
