Joy in looking and comprehending is nature's most beautiful gift.-- Albert Einstein
As I descended the path to the base of the waterfall, I realized that nature is just perfect. Latourell Falls, a 249' plunge, is beautiful in all seasons. In the summer, the water flow is very low, creating near misty conditions. The beauty of this jewel just takes your breath away! I just couldn't resist getting close to it and to get wet in the really cold water. Enjoy!!!
Converting an image to black and white gives it a dramatic and mysterious feel. I was going to erase this shot but instead I decided to edit it and upload it here. There's nothing special about the composition, as a matter of fact, I did not care about a perfectly composed shot. I just wanted to capture the moment, to enjoy it while it was happening and that's what I did. Enjoy!!!
Rocks, Water and Time
When visiting Boquerón, besides the great food, shops and second to none nightlife you'll find some amazing arquitecture. One example are the houses built on the water. This particular one is the most iconic. Located in the heart of El Poblado is hard to miss and almost impossible not to photograph. I was hoping for great skies but bad weather started to move in so I went for a long exposure to really smooth the water and capture some cloud movement. Enjoy!!!
Red and Blue House
Ok, here we go! This is my first attempt at photographing the Milky Way. I'd never attemped this before mainly because it requires to be out late into the night waiting for perfect conditions. And also, it's recommended to be accompanied for security reasons.
A group of photographers invited me to go out and hunt the milky way, so I agreed. We agreed to go to Playa El Cocal located in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. The night was sort of cloudy and windy but the clouds were fast moving. The hardest thing for me was to change compositions in complete darkness. In summary, we had a great time and I finally got my first Milky Way shot. Enjoy!!!
A First Attempt - The Milky Way
During my recent visit to the beautiful state of Oregon, I couldn't resist to cover as much ground as possible looking for all the natural wonders this state has to offer. The road trip took me to Thor's Well wich is located near Cape Perpetua. When I got there the sky was really cloudy, meaning, no nice colors for sunset. Nonetheless, I was determined to take nice captures of this stunning piece of the Oregon's coast line.
After getting my shots of the iconic Thor's Well, I started scouting around looking around for something different to photograph. The tide was so low that you can see a deep green colored seaweed. I framed my shot and fire away using the plants for and interesting foreground and the ocean, rocks and the sky as compliments for them. It makes for an interesting picture to look at. Enjoy!!!
