Maple trees frame the falls and I'm pretty sure that they provide a great accent of color in late October and early November when the leaves are turning. I'll definitely visit this beautiful location during that time frame. In the meantime, enjoy!!!
Lower South Falls is one of the larger waterfalls in Silver Falls State Park and one of four waterfalls that you can walk behind. Lower South Falls features a trail which passes behind the falling water. Unlike the other three, the confines of the overhang behind the falls are quite cramped, and as such the trail has been constructed bordered with a very tasteful stone wall that blends into the landscape quite unobtrusively, which gives the falls a bit of a rustic feel more typically associated with areas like the Columbia River Gorge. Autumn weather in Iceland is predictably unpredictable. Overall though, the most likely two experiences you will have are clear, cold, still and sunny, or stormy, warm, rainy and windy. Hopefully you’ll discover both during your stay – because while clear weather is always preferred, a good Icelandic autumn storm can be really exciting and invigorating. During my visit to this magnificent country the weathe was stormy but nonetheless, the scenery was breath taking. The autumn colors from the foliage really stood out and contrasted beautifuly with the gray skies. Take a look and inmerse yourself in this picture. Enjoy!!! Autumn Colors in Lake MyvatnI just can't get tired of this place. Everytime I visit it's something different. My mind gets at ease contemplating the beauty and feeling all the peace the smooth sea wind brings. That same wind carried the clouds slowly to the west creeating the movement seen in the picture. Enjoy!!! Checking InAs 2017 was coming to an end I grabbed all my gear and headed down this spot located in my hometown. This are the ruins of an old sugar cane pier used a long time ago. This area was hit hard by hurricane María a few months back. I arrived 25 minutes before sunset and decided to wait until the sun cleared the horizon and shoot a long exposure. This shot was 4 minutes long...the sky turned beautifully magenta and subtle tones of oranges, yellows and blues. What a way for the year to end, enjoy!!! Subtle SunsetNotice the small things. The rewards are inversely proportional. ---Liz Vassey Sometimes we overlook small things and focus on the big picture. We have to undestand and realize that great things are done by a series of small things brought together. Take a look at what you think is not significant, take a deep look---you will be surprised at the amount of greatness and beauty that is just there. Enjoy!!! Small Things |
