Enjoy!!! Come JobilloThe Caribbean Martin (Progne dominicensis) is a large, steel-blue swallow with a white belly and a forked tail. It is fairly common as a breeding bird throughout much of the Greater and Lesser Antilles (except Cuba) and is often seen over open or semi-open terrain near water. The nonbreeding distribution of the Caribbean Martin long has been a mystery, but evidence is accumulating that this species winters along the coast of northeastern South America. This species also is known as the Snowy-bellied Martin, as Golondrina Grande in the Dominican Republic, and as both Irondel Nwa and Hirondelle a Ventre Blanc in Haiti. Enjoy!!!
