It is fairly common as a breeding bird throughout much of the Greater and Lesser Antilles (except Cuba) and is often seen over open or semi-open terrain near water. The nonbreeding distribution of the Caribbean Martin long has been a mystery, but evidence is accumulating that this species winters along the coast of northeastern South America. This species also is known as the Snowy-bellied Martin, as Golondrina Grande in the Dominican Republic, and as both Irondel Nwa and Hirondelle a Ventre Blanc in Haiti. Enjoy!!! Caribbean MartinAmerican Kestrel taking a break perched during a really hot and humid August morning. I was walking around looking for something to photograph, when this one showed up and was kind enough to pose for a killer shot. Enjoy!!!
